Patrick Meier

Patrick graduated cum laude (wicked smaht!) from the University of Cincinnati’s School of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning (DAAP) with a BFA. While his thesis at DAAP focused on painting and installation art – his interest and studies in cinematography were only starting to grow. After college this love for “moving pictures” only grew and he founded Contrast Productions – a video production start-up with a focus on music video and live musical performance.

As he honed his skills, he remained active in the arts community by spearheading SYMBIOTIC, an event-based pop-up collaborative with an intent to gather artists, musicians, dancers and other like-minded individuals in non-traditional “gallery” spaces.

In 2012, he was approached by a friend to create a music video for a band’s new single. The band was Walk the Moon and the song was Anna Sun. Patrick concepted, produced, directed and edited the mostly-single-take video which received over 25 million views and helped catapult the band into the national spotlight.

Based on this success, Meier became a sought-after Director/DP and landed at Eric Mower & Associates where he was hired to head their video department. After a 3-year run at Mower, Patrick started Yellowhaus Studio with Jeff Bucalo.

Patrick currently lives in Old Milford, OH with his wife, two children and some asshole cats. You’ll find him most evenings climbing walls and/or drinking bourbon.

Jeff Bucalo

A self-proposed “sports-nerd,” Jeff graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Sports Marketing. He immediately took a sharp right-turn away from that degree as he entered the beverage industry to serve as the Marketing Director for a small start-up juice company, Nantucket Nectars.

After helping guide “The Juice Guys” to prominence in the crowded alt-beverage category, he migrated to the agency side, serving as the account lead for brands including New Balance, Merrill-Lynch, Bosch Power Tools and Gorilla Glue among others.

While in the agency world, he developed a love for video and began to produce projects within the agency. In 2012 the agency hired a young Director/DP and the two became partners on various video projects. That partnership became official in 2015 when he and Patrick started Yellowhaus.

Jeff (or “Buc”) lives in Liberty Township Ohio with his wife, two children and their awesome dog.
