The city of Los Angeles has been at the forefront of Cannabis entrepreneurship for the last decade.  They are the largest Cannabis market in the entire world, with the largest concentration of businesses vying for cultivation opportunities, real estate and shelf-space.

In an effort to level the playing field, the city developed a groundbreaking Social Equity Program within its Department of Cannabis Regulation.  The SEP was launched to help those affected by the war on drugs and give them a chance to own and operate legitimate, legal businesses in the space.

From free legal consultation to tax incentives and government grants, the SEP has helped thousands of individuals realize their dream of moving forward in the Cannabis industry.

COOL FACT: One of the operators we had the pleasure of interviewing, grew up in LA and began selling marijuana at a young age.  He was arrested and spent 16 months in prison for supplying a myriad of LA’s entertainment celebrities.  Once he was released, one of his clients gifted him the trademark for “The Chronic”.   He ran with it and has evolved it into a vertically integrated business from cultivation to branding and distribution and a series of dispensaries.  To this day, his efforts offer downtown LA some of the best product available.  Aka…The Chronic.
